I can't seem to find the solution to my problem on the net. I was using DVDX Rescue to backup all my factory bought DVD's but now it doesn't work! I was using an LG drive that I think just burnt out so I installed a new one (LG) that backed up about 2 or 3 disks but now nothing.

The whole process of doing it completes successfully but after the disks don't read anything in any DVD player. Even if I try a disk that I had success with before doesn't work.

I get no error messages it just goes through the process like as if nothings wrong.

Can anyone help???? Oh by the way I uninstalled and re-installed the software.

Here is the free way of making perfect backups:

1) DVDFab decrypter - this wil break the movies encryption while ripping the movie to your HDD

http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

2) Vobblanker - Not always needed

http://www.jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm

3) dvdshrink - this will allow you to compress the movie to fit onto a blank DVD-5 disc

http://filehippo.com/download_dvdshrink/

4) Imgburn - the best free burner around

I sorta wanted to use the program I was using because it was a one-program-does-it-all sorta thing. It was so easy using DVDX Rescue. Besides I tried another method like that and it didn't work.

your question is hard to follow . do you mean the dvd-rom drive in your pc or your dvd standalone player wont read them.

i assume you mean your dvd-rom drive in your pc so ok 1.make sure your running the lastest firmware for the drive.

use good blank media as in Taiyo yuden and or Verbatim and burn at 4x max.

you really should move on and try better software also .a easy to use program thats way better than x copy would be CloneDVD 2 with AnyDVD theres a 21 day free trial so check it out you can download it here and theres guides on how to use the programs mentioned in this thread

Try these

This is what to do if you are having trouble backing up your movies:

Here is the free way of making perfect backups:

1) DVDFab Decrypter - this wil break the movies encryption while ripping the movie to your HDD

http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

2) VobBlanker - Not always needed, but it will get rid of any protection that DVDFD left behind. VobBlanker also allows you to blank, replace, cut and strip titles.

http://www.jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm

3) DVDShrink - this will allow you to compress the movie to fit onto a blank DVD-5 disc. Select your output as an ISO image

http://filehippo.com/download_dvdshrink/

4) Imgburn - the best free burner around

http://www.imgburn.com/

Here are some guides:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154 DVDFab Decrypter and VobBlanker guide by Alkohol

http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/article_vobblanker_page1.html VobBlanker guide

http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/ Shrink guide

The other free option:

Use RipIt4Me. I do not know anything about ripit4me so I will leave you with the excellent guide by arnibear. You can also download it from the same link

The other way $$$$$

AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie. All you have to do is start up AnyDVD and continue using your normal compression engine, whether it's shrink, recode or CloneDVD, It's that easy.

Before you pay for this excellent program you have a 21 day trial

What else to do if the above does not work:

1) Update your dvdwriters firmware

2) Invest in good quality media Taiyo Yuden and Verbatims are best

3) Check your dvd's for dirt, scratches

4) clean your dvd

If your dvd still does not back up, you most properbly have a badly authord dvd, so your only solution is to exchange it.
