hi folks,
i just downgraded my psp to 1.5 and installed devhook .44 in the root directory of my memstick. when i start devhook everything is fine and the devhook "desktop" appears and the preferences of my psp says the firmware is 2.71. So far so good but when i insert my original loco roco UMD my psp freezes and i cant even turn it off (i have to take the battery out of it and reinsert in order to turn it off an on again). well, what did i wrong? can someone help?
thx in advance,
lax

Try changing the preloaded address settings. Also, make sure you're launch type is UMD (ANY UMD) and also @ 222MHz...

hi guys, thanx for your answers. i bought it at www.ebgames.de its a german version.
@guano what do you mean by: "Try changing the preloaded address settings. Also, make sure you're launch type is UMD (ANY UMD) and also @ 222MHz..."
how can i change the preloaded adress and where do i make sure that the launch type is UMD? I red the install instructions but there was no hint.
thanx a lot,
lax
PS: @iPirate hey, dont even dare to laugh - my beautiful wife bought me the bundle white PSP with Loco Roco in it and played it by herselfe all the time ;-) I think 49,00 EURO for a F ucking game is way too much, so i decided to play backups ...

RE: Try changing the preloaded address settings. Also, make sure you're launch type is UMD (ANY UMD) and also @ 222MHz
You can change the bus speed. Just make sure the PSP isn't set at 222MHz or it won't load a game; it will freeze trying to start.
Also, with the preloaded address settings: I think that option is under OPTIONS or some other name. Just try going thru all of your options. I think the addresses are located in the 2nd from the bottom choice. In there, you will also see REMOTE and something else.
Just try preload address 08xE****** something like that. Sorry, but I'm at work, so I'm recalling this from memory!

Not for games it isn't, but there are at least 2 different region encoded versions of the PSP. North American and European, which also covers Japan, Australia, etc...

sorry, I didn't clearly define: It's region encoded for Movies, primarily.
:)
And I think SOME Japanese games.

Yup, I don't think I should have a problem runnin a EUR UMD on my US PSP.. region code is only specific to movies right.
EDIT - its a crazy addiction... definitely makes my eyes go all funny lol

you crack me up, hodgins. It's a very original game, isn't it. I give the dev team MAD props! Only TWO button used and it's THAT addictive!!!
@ dusk: Yea, you're all set. (regioncode)
@ hodgins: She's from the side panel of PSP-Hacks. Some movie coming out or something. I just removed the eyes and put guano.
