Greetings. I recently heard about this product (Movie Player) and I was wondering if anyone who owns it has any comments on it, because I'm thinking of getting this. Also, I have one question: approximately how large (in MB) would a 20-30 minute video file be? This way I can judge what size SD card would be best. Here's a link for anybody

Thanks in advance.

honestly, that one is a piece. you don't want that lol.. its cheap and will not play commercial games. Also, video quality is not that great. I would suggest the M3 movie player, which can be found at places like http://www.getyourgameshere.com . The overall quality is better and if you decide to later on you can use it as a PDA, music player, etc. Works with GBA as well. As far as the size of the video, it all depends on the quality you set it at (have to encode it for the GBA/DS).. but I don't think its more than 3MB a minute, if that.

Hmmm, interesting. However, is there any place that sells it for a bit less?

i think thats the lowest price i've seen so far.. most places charge around $85+ for it. Divineo might have it cheaper but they have higher shipping charges.. so i'm not sure. The alternative is the Supercard, but I also don't know how great that is for movies. Venom can give you a heads up on movie quality with the EZ4flash cart.. but in my opinion the M3 is a better solution because it has a higher compatibility rate with GBA, DS, music and movies :)

Ok, thanks for the help. I just want to ask one more question. Since money is kind of an issue, what is really that bad with the "Movie Player" that I mentioned. I'm not saying you're wrong, I just want to get some feedback. Thanks.

other than the quality being OK, the lack of homebrew/game support kicks it down. If you're looking for strictly movies.. you really can't beat the price even though the video quality could be beaten.. its only about $25-30 shipped, which really isn't that bad. With an M3 or supercard you're looking at double.. even triple those prices. So from that standpoint, its definitely a good deal.. but if you're interested in using it for games or anything.. its best to look elsewhere :)

Hopefully that cleared up some confusion.. i was pretty tired yesterday so I think I missed the whole point of the thread in my replies :D

No worries. It's all clear now. I downloaded the M3 Software, and there seems to be some issue. If I try to convert an episode of Futurama, it works fine. But when I tried to convert an episode of Chappelle's Show, it froze. I tried it again and again, but Chappelle didn't work. Is it just the file?

Sorry to double post, but it turns out the M3 program didn't work. Just when it finished encoding the episode of Futurama, it gave me the whole "has encountered an issue" and then it gave me the option to debug. I tried to debug, but it wouldn't let me.
