yeh hodgins, but sony with these new features theyll scure them to the max , i reckon itll be a long wait before an exploit of these fws will happen

good point, i think darkalex,booster etc, has showed sony what they are made of, so i think siony have learned their lesson :(

But then again. What can't hackers get at? I mean, people thought it wasn't possible to downgrade at all. But here we are now, having a downgraded psp. I think people'l crack this in a month or two after the release.

my only concern with 3.00 is...
L2 + R2.... how will they go around that because in some games having all 8 buttons was a must *cough* Fighting games *cough*

Just in case you guys didn't know, they're coming out with a new firmware on Thursday. It's probably gonna be 2.8 or 2.9.

its not just the two shoulder buttons, but psx was a dual analog 8 button controller where psp is a 6 button solo analog.
but not all games utilized all 8 buttons on the psx so some of those will be easily ported to the psp.

Originally the PSX controller had no analog sticks on it.
The analog sticks werent implemented till later down the road.

werent most games choosible if you want analog or not it was just to compete with N64 and its analog i cant remember agame that had to be played with analog.....but ya there gonna need like a usb connestcion that puts the other 2 trigers in like for MGS1 it need those to choose your wep and your item

The psx games wont be free...nothing is ever free with sony...except for online(fingers crossed). BUt since the psp has no L2 or R2 triggers.... then the psx games would probably be reprogramed, which means only a few psx games will be released, most likely the greatest hits ones. Doubt u will be able to make ur own isos to play tho.
WHo knows the emu might not even be out cuz SOny can be full of ish sometimes...
PS3...it only does everything(that Sony allows it to)

Since I dont want to lose homebrew capabilities by uprading to 3.00 I guess Im going to have to wait for someone to emulate 3.00 perfectly even with all the added security checks(devhook). I can wait for GPS, Ratchet and Clank, and the psx emulator.

the psx pad had L2 + R2 unlike the PSP but it does have a music button, and screen button maybe they could be made to emulate L2 + R2 if really need to
