I've always been using xilisoft video convertor with no problems - very simple to use, though this program seems pretty intensive.. I'll have to check it, thanks for the link mate.

Excellent programm... but I also got the pop-up message that the connection was refused to 127.0.0.1:8109.
For people who can't get rid of it, I got a pretty simple solution. I don't know if there is a simpler one but this is working.
- Open "MediaCoder\htdocs\setup\setup.js" with notepad
- remove the following function:
Quote: function signalPageUnload(signal)
{
var xmlhttp = new XMLHttpRequest;
xmlhttp.open("GET", "savedata?unload=" + signal, false);
xmlhttp.send(null);
}
- Save the modified file
- Now you can click "Start Setup Wizard" or'"Skip Setup Wizard" without any problems.
Note
Posibly there are other solutions, but this one will remove the source of the problem... so it will work on any computer.
Succes

First install x264vfw found here http://jonny.leffe.dnsalias.com/ then copy and paste this into notepad:
x264 --pass 1 --threads 1 --progress --bitrate 500 -A all --level 3 --pictiming --aud --no-psnr --thread-input --output NUL YOURMOVIE.VOB
x264 --pass 2 --progress --bitrate 500 -A all --level 3 --pictiming --aud --no-psnr --thread-input --output YOURMOVIE.264 YOURMOVIE.VOB
save as a BAT file.
Copy the x264.exe from x264vfw into a folder with a name of your choice along with the BAT file.
Place your movie into the same folder, (YOURMOVIE.VOB, WHATEVER YOUR USING, THERE CANT BE ANY SPACES IN ITS NAME)
Then just double click the bat file and your away. ;)
This only works with Jonnys PMPMODAVC on PSP Version 1.50.
