I?m just wondering. Will anyone find old computer parts (from an early Pentium system, 1996) useful as I have an old P166 MMX hanging around in the attic which needs clearing? If yes then I will put them up on eBay. If not then the Computer will be in the bin.

Try looking at the current listings and recent sales on eBay to get a feel. You might decide to pitch it versus the hassle of trying to list individual parts. Shipping on the whole thing has got to be high due to weight.

For an example, I bought an old Imation SuperDisk drive for my old system. Cost $1 plus s/h. Good deal for me as s/h was cheap on this light item. Seller made next to nothing. I have tried selling some old parts. S/H exceeded the bid price on a Monitor.

You might take these things to a used seller in your area. I got $5 for a monitor that I could not sell and could never use. It was working.

Donate to Goodwill and take a tax deduction. I just hate simply putting good stuff in the dumpster though.

I would keep as a second system and through Linux on it :D
You can set it up as a server(If you wanted to).....That would be a perfect system to Experiment with linux.(ie.Create and Destroy)Or you can use linux as a home system.

I ended up needing the closet space for mine, I have some old 600 cpu systems needing to be put in the closet. (I use them for testing purposes). I donated them to Goodwill and took the tax deduction on it. I donated the tower, legacy cards, 1 gig HDD's, cpu and mobo. That was worth $500 for the deduction. The goodwill store here also has a computer History museum, They ut all of the stuff together and put it on as a display for others to see... hehe

I think I might do what tocool4u said as I could learn from it. Then after tuck it away somewhere and use it as a cheep fileserver.
