I have made yet another mistake of purchasing something without checking on all the details and now I'm asking you guys for help yet one more time. I bought a HP PSC 1200 All-in-One series printer and it works great... but the problem is the ink cartridges cost anywhere from 50 to 60 dollars and all I'm managing to get out of each cartridge (I did an exact count) was 60 pictures and 200 pages (documents, web pages etc.) I'm sorry, but 60 pictures and 200 pages just aren't worth 50 dollars to me. Does anyone know of a good printer with cheap ink? Quality is only important as far as pictures go. I could care less as far as documents go.. just about any printer can handle docs. I wouldn't mind a 50 dollar cartridge if the life expectancy of the cartridge was a lil longer than 60 pics and 200 docs. Taking all suggestions.. thank you once again.

i'd recomend an Epson R series printer, the print quality is excellent, and you can also print onto printable CDs/DVDs. The official Epson cartradges are expensive, but there are many cheaper brands of compatible cartradges that work just as well.

I appreciate the feedback.. Now you have me wondering if there are alternative cartridges for the hp I have now.. We have a place locally that fills cartridges for you and I'm currently looking into that as well... It's just insane how much ink is worth to some people.. I had an Epson Stylus way back in the day on my Comcrap ME Edition.. Don't guess it was waaay back in the day but it seems forever ago all the same.... I do like the idea of being able to print on disc and such.. we had an issue where my stepdaughter was wanting to make a t shirt with her little sister on it and of course thats just one more thing this HP cant do.. the ink I assume is waterbase.. Over all, I just hate this HP.. which is odd because I love just about everything else I've had with there name on it.. Once again I thank you for the feedback.

Be sure to drop back in and complain about your printer not working properly, or at all, when you drop one of those cheap refills in. :):):)

You get what you pay for, folks.

Keep believing that. Explain what you mean by not refilling it right. I would bet that there are a multitude of folks who would like to know.

example as u said that the ink quality isnt the same as a new one in some places but theres a new store that opened like 5 blocks away from me that only refills ink so i went to them just to give it a try and i was impressed! the quality was exactly the same as buying a new ink

I've had real good luck with the remans from Meritline been using them for about a year now last longer than the HP's same Quality photo & i believe you take same carts as mine 56 black [$15.00 ]& 57 color [ $17.00 ]. My epson R340 is $20.00 for all 6 carts And the Epson CX4200 is $17.00 for all 4 carts. I bounce between Supermedia, Meritline, & Abacus for best deals . Chris

Thanks for the info.. I've never tried remanufactured before but your right... definetly alot cheaper... maybe I'll keep her a lil longer.. see how the remanufactured ones do.. I wish I had a lil patience when shopping lol... and I wouldn't be surprised when it came time to refill.. I'm a get in and get out kinda shopper.. and it bit me on the arse this time.
