Hi, I'm new to ripping and backing up my DVDs, I started yesterday and the first four I did went well using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. After those DVDs thou I started having problems, first the DVD drive was showing up as D: drive and an H: drive, which did not happen before, anyways the problem is I am currently decrypting a DVD and it is only going 1.3x when I know it was going 4x as fast yesterday. The burner I am using is an refurbished LG burner which I received yesterday, I find it hard to believe that it would be the burner because LG IMO is a respectable company but then again I don't think it would be the software because it was working fine yesterday. Has anyone else had this sort of problem or is anyone familiar with it?
Hey arniebear thanks for the reply! I will try this, they are in DMA but I will do the uninstall and reboot, hopefully that helps. The movie I was trying to decrypt was Donnie Darko and was mostly free of smudges and scratches.
Thanks and I will let you know if this fixes my problem.
Possibly, you can always try the ribbon cable again and see if it changes anything. I have not tried the round yet, but many say they are supposed to be better. Are you sure everything is hooked/seated correctly?
Well I have uninstalled the IDE drivers a few times now, it worked fine for a DVD I just burned by using AnyDVD, DVD Shrink and Nero, but now I am doing that again with the movie Donnie Brasco and its going 1.4x, slower then it should be, it will work but its going to take an hour and a half. I will try putting the original IDE cables back in and if that does not fix it I am guessing there may be something wrong with the recorder/burner. If there is any other setting or little thing that could be throwing this off please let me know.
There is a setting in the preferences of DVD Decrypter "Set read spead" - try to enable that one. Also make sure that you have the read spead up to MAX.
