I, along with a few friends at work purchased the new Sony PSP. We were stupid and upgraded to 2.60 right away, and made the fatal error. After spending a few days on the forums, still confused to the PSP Downgrading / Playing ISOs. Heres our questions.
(1) Can a 2.60 PSP Play ISOs on the memory stick?
(2) Do you need GTA:LCS to Play ISOs?
(3) Can a 2.60 PSP be downgraded successfully?
(4) What is Devhook exactly, and how can a 2.60 PSP use it?
(5) What is Homebrew exactly, and how can a 2.60 PSP use it?
(6) If downloaded an ISO, how do I play it?
(7) How do you tell a TA-082 Motherboard PSP from a non-TA-082 Motherboard PSP?
I am sure a lot of people have these questions, so answers to using a 2.60 PSP to load ISOs would be wonderful.

1 - No a 2.60 can not play ISO's off the memory stick
2 - Answered in question 1.
3 - Yes a 2.60 psp can be succesfully downgraded as long as its not a
TA-082 PSP. Heres a page to aid in identifying if it is.
http://www.modchipstore.com/support/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a... 4 - No a 2.6 psp can not use devhook. Devhook is a program used to
emulate newer firmwares on a 1.5 psp.
5 - U can boot homebrew on a 2.60 PSP with a unpatched version of
GTA:LCS and eloader. Homebrew is all kinds of applications for the
psp including PSPtris. A clone of tetris for the psp.
Applications to make the psp more like pda. go here to see some
http://www.pspupdates.qj.net 6 - You could play an iso on a 1.5 psp with devhook.
7 - See the first link above identifying if its a TA-082
The eloader is what you use in conjunction with GTA:LCS to load some homebrews on 2.5/2.6 psps. It can not load all homebrews.

Dude not cool. He might be a noob but theres no reason to call him a doofus. His post was formatted properly and he asked the right questions. I have seen alot worse questions be asked. No need to be so condescending.

Thank you for all of your help. When it comes to the PSP, yes I am new, but then again it is hard to find time to do all the research when you work 90+ hours as a Los Angeles Sheriff Deputy.
Your answers were to the point and I am sure will be helpful to many.
One more question: For those of you that are "senior members," like IPirate who I notice writes many comments on these forums, do you all work for afterdawn.com, or just fans of the Sony PSP. I am just amazed by the extent of you knowledge.
Thanks for everything!

Here is complete downgrader for 2.5 / 2.6 fw PSP m8 :-
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OOM30J5H
Just run the EasyDowngrader and it will guide you step by step through downgrading your PSP. It will also show you how to identify which motherboard your PSP has. In addition to the downgrader you will need a copy of Grand Theft Auto : Liberty City Stories for about 5 mins... :)
