Hey guys I have a firmware 2.7 but want a 1.5 so if I were to buy one from gamestop what firmware would you say it is and would it be a mother board.

All psp's have motherboards. They will let u check out the psp before you buy it as long it's used. Get one that isn't a TA-082 motherboard. Make sure to get one with 2.5 or lower too :)

well brand new its gonna be a 2.71, but used, it could be anything,and i dont think there is a way to determine a motherboard

Thanx for correcting me hodgins, I meant PCB. I always say motherboard. But a motherboard is a PCB in a sense.

Your best bet now days if you want a version 1.5 PSP is to buy one off Ebay. There are still plenty of them floating around, they just get kinda pricey. But when you think of what you can do with a 1.5 PSP, its well worth the extra $$$

hi guys I just recently bought a PSP GIGA PACK with 2.50 firmwire and need for speed most wanted... I downloaded the Downgrader 2.50-2.60 EN FULL and I checked my psp with the use hodgins91 handy image with the markings of the TA-082 motherboards- it turns out that I am one of the lucky ones without the TA-082 motherboards which made my day :-)
Also I was wondering if you guys could advice/guide me to what is I need to downgrade my psp to 1.50 firmwire, cheers!

Woh huge sig there. I would cut it down a bit. Mods will get on ya bout that. Well in order to downgrade you need the easy downgrader - full version, not lite. Which can be found here
http://www.psp-hacks.com couple pages in i believe. In conjuction with the easy downgrade you also need an unpatched version of GTA:LCS. The easy downgrader guides you through the whole thing.

cheers for the reply hex, I think I downloaded the full version it weighs around 13.9MB.
Another thing where will i be able to obtain a unpatched GTA UMD from? could you provide me with a UK link from the net... cheers hex

Also how would I know I will be renting out an unpatched GTA UMD? will there be a game version printed somewhere on the cover? if so which versions are known to be unpatched?... cheers
