I'm getting a weird error message while trying to rip the files from my Batman Begins DVD with DVD Decryptor. It gets to about 30% and reports it can't continue, which is very strange because I've never had an error ripping before.

Can post a screenshot of the error if required, does anyone know what might be going on?

Try using DVDFab Decryptor and VOB Blanker first. Probably one of those newer movies, ie. Arccos protection.

Then you can Shrink as needed and burn with Decryptor or ImgBurn.

You also may want to check and make sure you disk is not scratched/smudged and clean it.

DVDFab doesn't seem to like it either... it gets to the same point and just freezes. No error message, just doesn't carry on.

How do I use VOB Blanker?

@arniebear - definately no scratches on the DVD, it's an almost new copy. Something on it that just won't rip :(

You would use VOB Blanker after using DVDFab Decryptor. You would select the files created by DVDFab and select another destination directory for the resulting output from VOBB. Then press the process button.

But you need to get the thing ripped in the first place.

After VOBB processing, Shrink if necessary and burn.

Batman Begins does have ARccOS on it, and Decrypter will not make it through on its own. You can try RipIt4Me which will import a PSL file into Decrypter and get it beyond the bad sector. The program will then use another program FixVTS to clean the file and open DVD Shrink to compress and you can then burn. Here is a guide/sw and examples.

See if this works, if it does not this may just be a bad disk, and have some other kind of defect.

Have you tried ripit4me? A new and great program that almost always come through, will also automaticaly go to Shrink.
