Has anyone experimented with retrofitting an LCD projector with a car headlight bulb? I realize the lumens might be less, but given the price of the auto bulbs it seems worthwhile. Besides, most projectors have super-bright lights so you can watch the projection during daylight. I just want something that I can dim the lights and see.

Where do I find a comparison of auto bulb lumens to projector bulb lumens?
