yeh and the good thing about this version is that it allows you to run homebrew stuff of the emulated 2.71 xmb, but apparently your normal 1.00/1.50 eboots will not work because they need to be changed to prx format(i think)

Yes, they do need to be changed to PRX's. No 333MHz still doesnt work for me unless I change the bus speed thru the XMB.

alienator, u said that i can run homebrew on the fm 2.71 right?? there is a folder that is called homebrew for fw2.xx+devhook. can i drag that folder to my psp without upgrading my devhook to devhook .45 but instead run the homebrew on devhook .43??

I'm still using 0.43, I didn't see any advantage of switching to .44 yet so lets see what 0.45 can deliver then..lol
Quote: apparently your normal 1.00/1.50 eboots will not work because they need to be changed to prx format
exactly how do we do this then?

@ ALL:
Call me crazy, but the new version's features are in the actual EBOOT files. I don't think there will be a precompiled version w/ the flash files included b/c all you have to do is put the DevHook v0.45 EBOOTS in PSP\GAME and then launch w/ the SAME EXACT Flash1 and Flash0 you have for your current DevHook. There will not be a "new way" of dumping 2.71 flash, you know what I'm saying?
So the "Lazy man's" is the ONLY way anyway... Again, this I BELIEVE to be true; it's what makes sense to me. Doesn't mean I'm right. So I recommend testing it out!
NOTE: To get your Binary files (EBOOTS) converted into PRX files format, you will need a SDK. (Software Development Kit); at least that's what I've read. It's not going to be easy, but it will be remarkable once you can achieve this...
:)

guano the magic stuff for devhook 0.45 is not just inthe eboot in psp/game/
but there are more files in the folder as when i downloaded there were some files in the 2.71 kd folder which werent there in the previous dhook release

I dunno. Try it anyway. Maybe those new files interact w/ files from the flash and create an outcome which could could be considered somewhat of a "hybrid reaction". In other words, when you run v0.44, the syscalls Booster created will call for a certain action to be taken, native to the normal actions of how 2.71 ACTUAL FLASH would work. HOWEVER, in the NEW release, the syscalls Booster created will not only call for a certain action to be taken, but will also add elements to the processes taking place, thus modifying them, or creating "hybrid reactions"... IDK. I would try it anyway. What's the worst that could happen? It actually works? :)
Keep me posted.
Remember, Booster can work MAGIC. The kid is SICK!!! I wouldn't be surprised if the above were true. (you're not going to get anymore out of the flash than what's already there...)

the SDK folder is for converting your homebrew from EBOOT to PRX... (that's how homebrew is gonna run in 2.71 emu) I wouldn't mess w/ it. I don't know how it will work until I get home to check it out... And maybe then I still won't know how to use it. Most times, in order to use a SDK (Software Development Kit), you need to know C++ coding. I think I am going to have trouble w/ this one. LOL But ppl over at MAXCONSOLE are working on converting homebrews for us, so we can just download from there.

tell me about it lol,
a question for you all lol (it may be stupid)
well now this new devhook can launch homebrew apps from the menu. is it possible to reveal the psp's firmware (there is an app to do this) and install the devhook mod to the 2.7 firmware, and allow it to run homebrew ?
