Should I Buy a PSP Now? I Just Completed My Nintendo DS Lite Modding. Now I am DS Happy. But I'm thinking about the PSP but can't decide. It looks a lot more expensive to mod. I have a lot of questions about it. I know now is a better time to buy the PSP and mod it because there are more options now than when it first came out. But how many games (estimated) can fit on a 4GB Card? 1GB? With the DS I can fit all the games I enjoy onto 1GB Micro SD but of course the games are a lot smaller in size. Should I get it premodded? Or are there things to stick in it to mod it like the DS? (No mod chip?) I am brand new to the PSP. I have a modded PS2 if that helps any. Same with a modded Gamecube. So I do know some stuff about modding. By the way, I heard something about the worlds first modchip for the PSP? What's up with that? Like it came out yesterday or something?

I love my 1.50 psp it has the best homebrew of any console. Depending on the iso size 1GB=1 iso Game 4GB=4-5 isos.

Yikes. If you can only fit one game on one gb card why not just not mod the PSP for game backups and just use the original games? The price of a memory card cost WAY more than one game. That wouldn't make sense. Especially with me, I would only mod the PSP to play backups, none of the extra stuff. At least so far.

It depends on which game you wanna put on there, a lot of the games you can get to under 500mb by using ripkits and compression tools. I have 4 ISOs on 1 of my 1gb sticks as a few of the games are only like 100-200mb.

I modded my first firmware DS (yah not a DS Lite...kinda crap...but easier :) ) a couple of weeks ago and I now bring both my 1.5 PSP and DS to school. Reason? Both can play music and games that suit my tastes. e.g Play GTA:LCS and listen to MP3s through Moonshell.
OR Play New Super Mario Brothers and listen to MP3s through the MP3 player that the PSP contains.

Besides that fact, the biggest Memeory Stick Duo Pro in Australia is 1GB, and prices in a retail shop for Sandisks is around $99 AUD ($50 US roughly) and Genuine Sony sticks are around $130 AUD ($70 US approx.) You just learn to, with such a limitation on size:

* Put 1 ISO
* Get a whole bunch of other homebrew (DOOM)
* Get some favourite songs
* Play with what you've got

Then again, my 1GB M3SD on DS has 10 Games, about 60 Songs, and still has 500 MBs left on the card. Damn.

Yeah. I will really only be playing the PSP for games. I don't care about anything else. It's the games that matter to me, not what else it can do. It can do as much as it wants to but if the games arent great, I won't get it.
