Inverted colours on handhelds - why are they so alluring?

I have a theory. Any colour someone has for any console and/or video game system, they will want the inverted colour (whether black to white, white to black)

Many people I have talked to with a DS-Lite (white) and a PSP (black) will say they want a white PSP and a black DS-Lite. They'll say the reason is the other colour is so much cooler than the current colour. Do I smell a paradox?

Does anyone else notice this? I see Sony and Nintendo charging more and more for just different colours of handhelds and consoles, and people are eating it up!!!

If somethin sold better just cuz u changed the color wouldnt you follow suit. I know I would. I dont like the white psp that much tho...i mean it looks good and all but not for me. I want a clear or chrome one. If i get clear ima put so many LED's in my psp that i could land a plane with it.

Its because people wanna be cool to outdo their friends. like if you have a black psp and your friend has a white one they will be bragging cuz its cooler and "fresh".
