Hello!

I guess by now most of you have noticed that if:

* You are online, and ...
* You insert a music cd into your burner/reader and fire-up Windows Media Player ...

Then:

WMP will automatically search an online database and retrieve for you the covert art and full track listing of the cd you are playing. This info is always displayed full time during playback.

Further, even when you are offline later on, and play back the cd, the covert art will always show up in your player along with the full track listings.

(I know this is very old news), but I have always thought that this particular feature is so cool! But I was wondering *where* on my hard drive the actual cover art and track listings are *stored*. Obviously, this info is stored somwhere.

I thought maybe the info might be somewhere inside, say,

C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\..., but I couldn't find anything in any of the folders there.

I even did a disc-wide search for all *.jpg images on the drive itself (a laborius task), but that didn't shed any light either.

The reason I am wondering where all this stuff is stored, is because I thought it might be useful to include some of my own cover art, and track listings for my own made-at-home cd compilations. As you may know, WMP will only recognize commercial, i.e., retail music cds (or direct-made copies), but NOT a home-made red book cd converted from other sources. (.ogg, .mp3, .wma, .wav, .fla, other cds, etc.)

If I could find the elusive folder where WMP stores this info, then it would be super nice to have my own cover art & track listings show up in WMP when playing my own homebrew cds. I would attempt to directly put this info into the folder in question.

So....... does anyone know where WMP stores all this retrieved info?

Many thanks....... Mike.
