I bought another 2gb stick from eBay to put devhook .45 on etc. I installed devhook not a problem, but when I tried to copy over an .iso file it froze and now I can not read the card either through my PSP or through my card reader on my laptop.
I think I have been dealt a fake memory stick, maybe one with a lower capactiy than it should have, which may have been the problem, trying to copy 600Mb onto say a 512Mb card. But I don't see why this would freeze my card completely!?
My other (deffo genuine) stick works fine, not tried putting .45 on it yet as it has game saves and things I want to keep, so was trying to leave that stick alone (yes I know I can back them up etc.).
Any ideas how I might be able to get some life from this new stick and how to find out what the real capacity is?
well thats why you shoudnt buy fake memory sticks, if you wanted some cheap real ones, then if you live in the uk, go to places like cost co and makro, they have a 1gb stick for 40£
You think I bought a fake one on purpose???? I said "I think I have been dealt a fake one...", clearly indicating that I am not even sure it IS a fake, I am just suspicious it might be, which inherently impies that I did not knowingly purchase a fake one.
You don't know with eBay until they arrive, I only discovered it was possibly a fake by doing some web research when the damned thing didn't work. I bought my first one on eBay and it is 100% genuine, so had no reason to think this one wouldn't be when I ordered it.
Please don't make judgements without thinking about it first.
I am not sure if this problem has anything to do with it being fake or not, i just mentioned it in case anyone else had a similar problem with a stick they knew was fake.
I just don't understand why the card will not register as a drive anymore, it started off fine for a few mins then nothing.
yo elrao which company is ur mem card and how much mb iz there total.
And i heard that fake mem cards cant transfer over like 1gb on 2gb cards but am not sure
It is supposed to be a Sony stick, looks pretty identical to my genuine sony one to be honest, but the packaging is slighly different.
It is supposed to be 2gb, but i can not tell you what the actual capacity is as it no longer registers on my PC when it is inserted in the PSP (which doesn't register it either).
I was trying to put a 600Mb ish file on it when the copy process failed, after that i have not been able to do anything with it.
another way to check your capacity of your memory card is by right clicking the I drive or H drive, whatever your drive is when u connected your memory card to your computer. go to properties, and look at the free space on that card. u said u have a sony card, there are alot of fake sony cards out there. tell me how much free space u got in that card.
