does any body have this problem with DVD Decrypter, the problem is when DVD Decrypter it is ready to burn the file you save as ISO on your computer and you put in a blank DVD+RW in the DVD drive, it says this DVD needs to be formted and its a new blank DVD if you do have this problem how did you fix it

Hello.

Usually it just presents a dialog box. Did you click the OK button to OK the formatting? +RWs have to be formatted if they are new before anything can be written to them. There is an option in DVD Decrypter to automatically OK the formatting.

Tools > Settings... > ISO Write tab > check the box "Don't Prompt Format Media"

I think this should cause an automatic format without prompting, but I haven't tried it. It's usually a good idea to keep the prompt because sometimes it gives you an extra chance to correct a mistake you might be in the process of making.

yes i do click ok when the dialog box pop up then it be sayin erasing disc then it stop and say I/O Error

Hi,

Does the drive burn -R and +R media OK? Is it just this +RW media that's causing problems.

You might try downloading the free version of DVDInfoPro.

It can format RW disks. See if that works. It may be the burner doesn't like the media. Have you ever used the media before? What brand is the RW media?

Nero can also format RW media, if you have that package.

no i have not try other -R and +R disk cause all i have right now is a couple of DVD+RW called Khypermedia 4x 4.7GB 120min but DVD Decrypter keeps on saying it needs to be format when its a fresh new blank disk there aint a single data on these disk

Khypermedia is not great quality stuff. It could be the case your burner just doesn't like it. RW disks do have to be formatted before they can be used which is why DVD Decrypter is trying to do so. This is an older burner and maybe if this media is new its firmware isn't recognizing it. Did you upgrade to the newer firmware? Did you try formatting with any of the other programs I listed?

It's important to know whether the drive can burn +R or -R media since if it can't, the drive may be faulty.

you're burner is not a new burner.... seems to write at 2.4, 4x only..... unless you do a firmware update soon your drive will be obsolete and usless when the 4x media is out. there is a new firmware for it: 1.1e... I would update it.
