Hey guys is it true that the downgrader works and even if it does whats the use to downgrade to 1.00 will it play devhook and is it true that there is a custom firmware in developement for the 1.00?

Yes the downgrader works. In order for homebrew to work on 1.00 you have to convert the eboots in a compatible format. The advantage of 1.00 is it's good for devs.

No, Devhook doesn't work on 1.0.
There's a multiple custom firmware developers for 1.5, not 1.0.

there has already been a custom firmware release by dark alex. check http://www.psp-hacks.com/2006/07/15/custom-firmware-poc/.
there have been a few mods which allow you to listen to mp3's anywhere in the xmb. i havent tried it but its supposed to be really cool.

1.00 doesn't offer all the kernel access that 1.50 has to offer, so less homebrew runs on 1.00, but 1.00 has the least security of all firmwares so it will probably be the easiest to completely hack the psp to bits and make completely custom firmware. The Proof of Concept custom firmwares available aren't actual firmwares they just change factors of the 1.5 version - still good stuff tho

the POC firmware runs on 1.5 only, not 1.0. im guessing future custom firmwares will be for 1.5 aswell.

epsilon bios isn't an actual firmware, just the undiluted platinum modchip is essentially another chip to store a firmware on.

Then the epsilon bios just instructs the modchip so when you load your psp it will boot into 2.71 (stored on the psp) or whichever firmware is installed, then when you select homebrew or copied games it tells it to run through the 1.5 firmware stored on the modchip's flash.

The last known working DevHook on a v1.00 PSP was like v0.32.
