okay, I'm stumped. Trying to backup Grandmas boy and having problems. Using AnyDVD 6031, DVDFab decrypter, and burning with 1clickdvdcopy first, then tried ol faithful clone dvd 2. With 1click, I had everything except the movie, would go to menu to select rated or unrated then nothing. File size on hard drive 7.4G, file on disc 4.xxG. I tried clonedvd2 and the movie wouldn't even load in DVD player. Tried VOB blanker and filesize oin harddrive after was 2.33G. I'm currently in process of trying DVD Shrink, any help would be appreciated.
make sure your firmware is up to date on your drive ,transcode/burn on a clean machine(disc cleanup and defragging often) without other programs running in the background
thanks. I think the shrink process worked fine last night, I will burn it tonight and see what happens. I borrowed another copy from a friend and the same thing happened. I must admit I was shocked when AnyDVD and Dvdfab didn't work. As far as VOBblanker creating a 2.33G file after it was finished, I can remember The Cave doing the same exact thing.... not sure if I ever completed the backup of that one or not.
I don't know, I tried 2 different copies. I *think* shrink worked fine last night, I'll try to burn tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed. I couldn't believe that AnyDVD and dvdfab couldn't handle this one. Being a movie that has been released now for a little while I was shocked that I couldn't find anyone else havong similar problems. I do remember however that The Cave gave me the same problems when I ran it through VOB Blanker, only coming out at 2.33G... Not sure I did ever figure that one out.
well, the good news is that I got it. As for why I didn't use AnyDVD ripper, well it ripped fine... problem was getting it to burn properly. I guess maybe old school also? Hate to try something new? You know I have a couple proggies I use to burn, couple I like to rip ect ect ect. Make you a deal.. I'll try AnyDVD ripper next time, see if I like it. But I still have to burn it and that is where the problem was. :)
