Hi firstly hello,
I am just new today.
I have found more information on this site in more than two weeks of looking around the net.
I am slowly going through the guides, which are so well wrote so a big thank you.
My question is I have 8 DVD-R discs and I am not sure what speed I should write at I did the same movie at both 8 and 2 but I am not sure what I should do to get the best results.
Hoping to hear from someone soon Amron (ENGLAND)

Welcome.

As a general rule, it's best to limit the burn speed to no more than half the rated speed of the media. A lot depends on how well your burner likes the media. The most imporatnt factors I beleve is the quality of the media. It hard to get a good quality burn with poor quality media. Most of us recommend Taiyo Yuden (available online), Verbatim, and Fuji and Sony media labeled as made in Japan (by Taiyo Yuden usually).

DVDInfoPro and Nero CD-DVD Speed can be used to assess the quality of a burn to a disk.
