Hello jalaneme

I would not be so down about it, i had a friend who had such problem's and it was three or four week's before he got his, and he was really mad, but it is one of them thing's that happen, through no onw's actual fault, remember wheny ou made your choice, the comapny may have had lot's of the chips/cases, but maybe during that week they got an overload of customer's wanting the same things/item's you wanted, and that is usually the case?? so it is not as bad as you think really , i sometimes get to the thinking of, well it happen's

Let me know how it goe's take care
btw what is your fav game

We all need to have patience in waiting for thing's these day's and more so with the like's/dislike's of modern day technology, but witht he thing's the way they are, we are fast approaching new speed's and new era'
how much was your modchip, and if you had it doen by ghost2fitter's how much was your total cost, to your house address?
Take care

i purchased the matrix infinity with pre mod console and it's a genuine one too, if you ask them they will update the firmware for you. and total price comes up to £187 and that includes next day delivery. i have a slight problem with the console right now is that it switches itself off after ten minutes, the modchip has this overheat thing that switches itself off and my fan is not working in the ps2 so i have to send the console back and they will refund the postage free of charge which is a relief, so now i have this huge fan next to it for now until i get some cash to send it back to them.

hi jalaneme

Right, that is a little strange, cutting/resetting every ten or so minute's, ? is there anything in the setting's/configuration that you could change, and stop this from happening, i seem to think, that for myself i would find that so annoying, so let me get this right, at the moment, you have a big fan near the console to keep it cool?? and it just's cuts out or reboot's after ten mins, that is not very good, and to top it all, you have to wait to get some cash/dough before you can send it back to them?? HARSH is not the word here

Let me know how it goes

yeah i had a look in the settings but there was nothing, they said the reason why it wouldn't turn on was because the ps2 fan inside wasn't connected and also it has a auto shut off if the console gets a certain temperature.

yeah it was pretty annoying, i was online at the time and i was chatting to someone and the console just switched off, i tried to press the on switch but i couldn't so i had to turn it on/off from the mains. the console can get really hot too.

I've decided to go to town on Monday and send it to them, the sooner i get it out of the way the better. but i won't receive it back till Wednesday. :(.

Hello jalaneme

Another strange point there then, they said the reason was because the PS2 fan wasn't connected, surely that would have been their fault and not your's, they did the overall job, so it should have been their responsibility to make sure that everything was, the way it is supposed to be, before it was sent to the consumer/you, and now you are going to have to wait until Wednesday :-( that is a little annoying but think of the good times/fun you will have when the ob is finished??
Take care

Umm. With swapmagic you can run a copy of hdadvance.
Then again, thats garbage and hdloader latest patched is always better, and for that swap magic set me up fine. So I enjoy the best of both worlds.

Hi Guys, i'm about to order a chipped ps2 with matrix infinity. was gna use gameworlddirect but after reading your comment am having second thoughts. can anyone recommend another place to order from in the uk, someone reliable and pretty decent on delivery time.

jalaneme, when you received your ps2 was it all ready to play backups out of the box or did you have to install some firmware on to the chip to do this?

Thanks

nerro buy from ghost2fitters, they won't let you down, they will call you by phone and update you with the progress of the order, there was hiccups for me but they resolved everything and refunded the postage when i had to send it back to them, if you want the firmware installed they can do it for you just leave a note in the comment box when you order from them and they will sort it all out for you. i guarantee that ghost2fitters won't sell you a fake matrix infinity modchip! I'm very happy with my new ps2 :D and yes they are from the UK and when you choose delivery choose parcel2go, they are cheap and you will still get next day delivery.

yes i was able to track the parcel via city link's website and was given a tracking number, when i sent my console in they just simply repaired it and sent it back to me, since then i have had no problems and i am happy with the performance of the console.

Just to testify:

I too have received my Matrix Infinity modchip today and I can't say i'm the least bit disappointed. I plays every darn game I throw at it (no swapping or any funky methods!) SwapMagic not only made playing games on my console a fricking hassle, but it wore down the brushes that are on top/below the disk motor because the swap magic DVDs were too thick. Now the console struggles to grab hold of CD games to spin them so that I can play them. Now I gotta spend $150 to replace them!

Matrix all the way!

btw. Is it true that after installation, watching DVD movie back-ups (even on good media) can harm your PS2 lens?

Hello kshep92

Yes Matrix Infinity chip's are the real way forward, and in your querie about playing dDVD's in the PS2 i have played many many DVD's in my PS2 console, and to be truthful i have not heard the rumour that they can damage your laser or for that matter any bad info on damaging the laser by playing DVD's, please do not forget SCEE (sony computer entertainment europe),made this very high spec machine with the ability to play DVD's, why on earth would they do that? and go through all the hassle of installing a DVD player within a great console, if they thought it would damage the laser???? think about it, but it is a good querie, and although i do not use my PS2 as a DVD player but i have done and had no problem's whatsover, i know people that have had their PS2 for year's and year's and never said tto me that they had to replace the laser

Hope this answer's a little querie?

Glad you like your newly aquired Infinity chip :-D
