Question about the 2.6 EZ Downdater(psp-hacks.com)

Ok, well I had a factory 2.5 psp that I unfortunately updated to FW 2.71. Last night I used up my PRP(Product replacement plan) at ebgames to return my psp and exchange it for a factory 2.6(wasn't able to check the version beforehand because they keep all consoles in the back of the store).
My question is: Would I be able to use the EZ Downdater to downgrade my factory 2.6 to 1.5 or am I screwed?
P.S. I checked first to make sure i did not have a TA-082 and it isn't so I am safe with that bit.

Yes,you will as long as you follow the downgrader steps carefully.
(Dont forget to connect the charger).

Alright, I just re-read the motherboard tutorial and noticed something I don't quite understand.

Does my GTA work with the new 2.60/2.50 to 1.50 downgrader?
The following are for the EU/UK versions of the game:
GTA: LCS (Non-Patched 2.6 version):
ULES-00151#
GTA: LCS (Patched 2.6 Version):
ULES-00151#2
For the U.S version of the game:
GTA:LCS (Non-Patched Version):
ULUS 10041 "
From what I'm seeing there it doesn't look like there is a patched US version. Is this true? Can i just get any version of LCS or is this just a typo?

Simple way to know what GTA u need is , head to your local rental shop with your PSP, get GTA and load it up, under the controller icon in the XMB there will be two UMD icons, if the bottom says UPDATE V2.00 your elected, thats unpatched if it says UPDATE V2.60 thats the patched version.

when did they patch the game? coz my mate got his PSP around xmas time with GTA...so i may use his copy if its unpatched.

its probably unpatched then, they only recently brought out the patched version :)
