Okay, so i'm trying to run homebrew on my DS. I have never tried this before, other than downloading .nes roms to my pc and playing old nintendo games. So, what I want to do is basically play old nes games and possibly snes and gba games also. Playing videos, music, etc would be cool, but not a main concern. I bought a cart from movieadvance.com, which I thought would be all I needed. Now that I found this forum I realize I need to do more.
Can anyone tell me what product is right for me? My priorities are:
a. Playing NES games, hopefully others.
b. Nothing sticking out of my DS Lite.
c. EASY ;)

I've seen these options posted:
M3 Perfect miniSD with Passcard3
Supercard with Super Key
EZIV with EZPass3
G6 Lite with Passcard3

Well right now your only choices for not sticking out are the EZIV Lite and the G6 Lite. EZIV sticks out by less than a millimeter and I believe the G6 is completely flush.
EZIV takes microSD while G6 is onboard non-expandable memory of 512 KB.
Aparently EZIV doesn't support a whole lot of homebrew YET, G6 probably has more right now but eventually I assume they'll even out. I haven't had a whole lot of success running old SNES games on my EZIV because the emulators that run on the DS only support certain ROMS. As I understand it the best product for homebrew is the M3 but it will stick out like a beast on a Lite, some are still holding their breaths for a M3 Lite - dunno when that will happen.

Actually it's 512MB but I guess thats a typo.

Yes, the M3 is the bestm but it will stick out alot on the DS Lite, I recently got a G6 Lite and playing homebrew emulators on it is no problem at all. I havn't tried SNES, but NES, PCE, GB, GBC and GBA all work flawlessly on it.

As for an M3 Lite, it is being worked on, but cramming all the goodness of an M3 into such a small space is going to take time.

So, if I go with the G6 Lite with Passcard3, the 512MB is plenty of space for NES games and probably some SNES Games also? The M3 does sound awesome, but I can't live with such a nice looking system having junk sticking out ya know. How much room would my GBA games takeup on this card? I have about 6.
How much have you guys seen this combo for? (G6lite & Passcard3)
(that is all i would need right?)

I got my G6 for about £60

A passcard3 should not be more than £15/$20

GBA games wouldn't take up much more than 16MB each, though there are a few 32MB games.

And yes you will only need the G6 and Passcard3.

I also saw this combo...M3 Mini SD + 1GB Mini SD + Passcard 3 COMBO for 139.99. Is that a good deal...does this one stick out of the DS Lite? if so do you know how far? I'm guessing just as far as my GBA games. Thanks so much for your help thus far Mr.Hanky....you seem like "THE MAN" on these forums :)

139.99 is reasonable, it probably about the same amount as if you were to buy it all seperatly, so it just saves the hassel.

If it is the newer version of the MiniSD it is the same size as a GBA game, so will stick out as far as that.

If it is the older version, it will stick out a little bit more, about 5mm more i think.

unfortunetly there is to way to tell from looking at the webpages if it is old or new version, but assume it's new as the new version has been out for a while now.

Yes, the EZIV can run NDS and GBA games, but not much homebrew is compatible with it, but if you don't use homebrew thats not a problem.
