u said u have a fm 2.60, ur first task is to see if u have a mohterboard that is compataible with downgrade. ok here is the thing, eject your umd slot and on the top right corner. if there is a label there that has some digits of number on it, it means that u got a psp motherboard that doesnt allow downgrade. pm me, after u checked it.

You cant play ISO files or homebrew on 2.6 psp. Fastloader is a homebrew app. In order to use iso files you will have to downgrade to 1.5. There is SOME homebrew you can play on 2.5/2.6 with an unpatched version of GTA:LCS and fanjita's eloader.
UPDATE:
sorry josh posted same time as you.

Remember in order to downgrade you also need the unpatched version of GTA:LCS.

There is no PM button.....just select Private Messgaes at the top of the page.
I too am unsure what is meant by 'Unpatched' version...but basically you need an older copy of GTA : LCS as it allows you to run Homebrew on firmware greater than 2.0.....all newer versions of GTA : LCS have now had this function removed. I can only presume that the game has been 'patched' by the programmers, hence you need an 'unpatched' version.

That is exactly right burnck. There has been many guides posted about how to identify which one is patched and which one is unpatched. The best way I found to figure out if it's patched or not is go to a game retailer and get a used one. Tell them you want to buy it, but you need to stick it in your psp first. After you put it in if it needs 2.0 to run then it's unpatched. If it needs 2.6 then it's patched.

Thanks, think maybe i am getting there. Couple more questions.
1. Is there any risk to my PSP by downgrading?
2. In regartd to the posts about GTA:LCS and the apcthed or unpatched version, if i run the updated game from UMB after downgrading will it still work?

Yes there is always risk with downgrading your psp. But if you get the easy downgrader, full version, and follow the instructions to the T you should not have any problems. You can play the patched version of the GTA UMD after you downgrade using devhook. But there really isnt much sense in it because if you purchase the un-patched version you can play with that one. The difference between the patched one and the un-patched one is the un-patched version has a savegame exploit which allows you to run homebrew programs.

yes with newest version of devhook you can emulate the 2.71 firmware, which means you can play ALL PSP games up to this point.

Pic's go in the photo folder and .mp3 files go in the music folder. They are both inside the PSP folder.
