now some of my games freezes. before they worked great. the games with a big size like NHL 06, MLB 06, etc.(more than 4 gigs) work great. but the others games somewhere in the games freezes or the loading is very very long. when those games freeze i turn of my ps2 and i open my fliptop and the position of the len is completly on the top. i think the problem is the lan because if it at this position, it can,t read disk that is not full. so it try to read a sector that as nothing on the dvd.... (i use Verb, writing at 2x)

sorry for my english...i'm not very good. I hope someone understand my problem....

tanks....

Sounds like a laser problem. Have you cleaned your laser yet with alcohol and a q-tip?

Also could be the media you're using. Even if some brand of DVD+-R works the first few months, it can (and usually does) quit working period. I've had a lot of backups go bad before I thought of quality media. I've had nothing but problems with Memorex, so I got some Sony DVD+R's and never had a problem since.

I learned the hard way and made plenty of coaster and learned its also has to do what works best for you, but what I have noticed is that games that I rebuilt work good with DVD+R and DVD-R I used verbatims and sony. As for just a straight rip and burn I use DVD-R don't know why they work better in -r but as for me they do.what I suggest is just to try everything software and media you'll make a couple a coasters but you'll also learn what works best for you, ps2, and your burner.

What speed are the Verbatim discs you are burning at 2X?
If they are 4X then that should be ok, but i rarely use 4X discs myself.
If they are 8X than that could be too slow and you may want to try 4X burning speed.
If they are 16X then i am not sure, some people say 6X some say 8X is the best speed. I hated the 16X discs i tried so i never use anything but 8X DVD-R
