Sorry i bet this has been asked before but i have downloaded some films.When i try to copy them on Nero they say they have copied with no problems but i can't play the discs on my dvd player.I know i am a bit thick on this subject but is it something silly i am doing wrong?Thankyou.

Hey Purky,

Its ok, its just that ur putting the movies which are avi's and can only be played on your computer. Straight onto a dvd u NEED to convert to dvd with Nero vision which you should have if you have Nero 7 ultra Edition.

and also is it a AVI or mpeg i would most likely think its AVI.

Its ok i know heaps of people that are computer literate. And im use to explaning. Well Nero vision is a program that comes with Nero 7 Ultra edition you should look for it on your computer. Nero vision will convert you movie file you have downloaded which is AVI to a dvd and then you will b able to play it on you dvd player. Nero vision is really easy to use aswell.

I know you solved your problem but I will add this anyway for future reference, there are several converters out there one of which is DivX which will convert the file without the need to burn, it also comes with a free converting codec, which I found works with Roxio My DVD.
But the actual DivX converter is not free but comes with a 15 day trial version for anyone to try out.
Personally the only thing i need is the codec.
