Any way to Format PSP?

I just got my PSP 2 days ago and my friends and I were playing PSP when my friend wanted to update his firmware and later found out he updated on my PSP. So now my PSP ver is 2.71 and because i have a TA-082 Motherboard I cant downgrade. later when I came across this site, http://pspupdates.qj.net/tags/multi-firmware-module/3983 it was quoted "PSP Multi Firmware module will support TA-082 on NEXT Ver. so if your TA-082 PSP is FW2.50 or FW2.60 don't update !!! :P" I tried formatting the memory stick and restore defualt settings but its still 2.71 FW. Is there a way to undo the update? IF not, because my PSP was oringinally 2.60 FW could this method work for me?

Im broke so thats not an option for me lol. If i have to wait for a 2.71 downgrader with a TA-082 motherboard how long would it kinda take?
