hmmn! weird topic indeed! starting off by john the new guy upgrading his psp from 2.71 to 2.8 then the next page the same persons that helped to upgrade forgot that it was 2.8 and gave directions for a media player for psp (talk about reading and searching for noobs when even they themselves dont search/read/backtrack hehe). then someone mentioned NOOB which is kinda true and john admit it. then someone flamed for john the new guy. then john rewrote the topic. then someone mentioned for a backlight for the psp shoulder buttons which is good looking but is it helpful? im more curios on the media player thinggy hehe.
what is .RAR? how to open it? wow great questions - if you type RAR on google.com the first link it will show will be RARlab.com

too bad for you psp being 2.8 yeah you're a sony prisoner until a downgrader is invented by someone (mph2.0>1.5/dark_alex 2.5-2.6>1.5).
sell your psp and hunt down psp 1.0/1.5/2.0 i dont recommend any higher coz you may eventually end up with a TA-082 (IC1003) as to open your eyes to the wonderful world of homebrew. when you do have 1.5 i advice you to learn to use the snes9x emulator first. a good starting point.
PSP UMD's can be backuped on pc as an ISO image container (PSP 1.5 has homebrew software's that do this hmmn? fastloader?)
Devhook runs on 1.5, it loads your Game ISO's and emulates up to 2.71 firmware of psp (hence 1.5 psp still have everything the 2.71 has browser etc)
@hodgins - wtf is that? is that the latest model of psp? is it the one manufactured in uranus? what firmware does it have? ive heard firmware 3000 can emulates all consoles and even remote controls the neighbors dog hehe.
