there are two type of psp to tv devices.
1. need you to take apart the psp change it with the supplied faceplate, solder the parts inside. the hard work will be justified coz you can now insert a playstation controller on the psp and play on the tv, your psp will be a little fatter. http://www.modchipstore.com/PSP-to-TV-converter-xtender-play-psp-...
2. camera relay adaptor. you dont do anything on your psp, just strap the product on your psp, connect the wires to tv, it bulky coz it'll block your view on the psp, you still have to control the game through the psp which is now heavier. http://www.pspontv.com/

i would definitley prefer the 1 (i would like a psp 1.5 installed with this tv adapter as i dont want to risk opening psp, extra work etc), so i can use my ps2 controllers.
psp's digital directional pad pretty suck and i cant tolerate to use it on any fighting games. TV screen would be a nice plus hehe.
i have an idea and hope somebody picks it up. how about someone inventing an adapter much like the PS2 to PC USB controller adapter that i have for the PSP http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=23&products_id=3176& It can be either plug through the PSP USB port or WIFI.

@john since this is an open topic, i can tolerate your wrong thinkings.
it not just a simple cord. the first one is like a mod-chip, you have to solder lots of wires on the psp motherboard,
the strappable one uses real time high prescision camera for capturing your psp screen and relay to TV.
