DVD backup to AVI/DIVX/XVID/MPEG

Hi, i would like to know how to backup a DVD to AVI/DIVX/XVID/MPEG. Any of these will do. I've used DVD Rippper Platinum Pro however I do not like it. It was able to back it up however my .avi file turned out to be 2.3 gigs instead of the regular 700mb or 1.4gigs that you find in torrent sites. Maybe the settings were bad...however if anyone could reccomend a good dvd to AVI/DIVX/XVID/MPEG program i can download and the specific settings I need to make on it to be as good quality and between 700mb - 1.4 gigs I would appreciate it. Thx!

Use AoA DVD Ripper (http://www.aoamedia.com/dvd_ripper.htm) and follow the instructions below.

1. Please download and install DivX codec. http://www.x-kit.com/codec/DivX511Bundle.exe .
2. Set the output format as AVI (DivX, XviD..).
3. Set the AVI video codec as DivX. (settings >> AVI Setting >> Video codec).

The output DivX file would be 700-800MB.

hello, b0nkers , with the DVD Rippper Platinum Pro , you can also obtain a small size file, as you are using this type of software ,after you have selected which video/audio file format you want to obtain, just remember to change the parameters in the output property table, there are several options ,such as resolution, frame rates , bit rates , full length and beginning time , so you can set these parameters to minimize the volume ,of course you have to consider sacrificing a little quality of the video.

hello, b0nkers, I recommend Sothink DVD Ripperto you.
It is very easy to use. You don't need to worry about the settings. The output file will be just 1/10 of the original size, and have great picture quality.
