just run the devhook and emulate it to 2.71 and when u turn off ur psp in the future, just turn it in sofe mode and when u turn it back on in the future, it will automatically be in fm 2.71.

sofe mode.. thats another way of saying sleep mode rite? is it good to leave it always in sleep mode?
in the power saving option on ur psp, turn off the sleep mode, cuz it sucks and sometimes it froze up the game while ur playing it. when i said just turn off ur psp in soft mode, i mean just slide it up without holding it on for 5 secs.
Check the front page of http://www.ps2nfo.com Earth boy, there are LOTS of different custom firmware mods on there to let you autostart to 2.71.
Check this forum before you install anything, there is a thread that Guano made with all the necessary links for custom firmware guides. And remember, it writes to flash, so there is a chance to brick your PSP ( I don't think anyone did brick yet thought)
