Bricked PSP...What to do?

Ok my PSP just got Bricked. Used Homebrew from an unreliable source. I was wonder what i should do. Just buy a new one or wait for some sort of recovery method that might come in the future.

It can allow you restore a bricked PSP and supposidly allow every game to be played easily with custom firmwares like the epsilon one, but whe havent seen one that does what was promised yet.

buy a modchip already available everywhere. It promise to Unbrick a PSP.
Googl... NO wait better, use a search engine to find a store where you can buy it!

2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall
mine is 356X172
that means i can even do a bigger one

oK so back to the topic. I need to know if the mod chip can actually unbrick me, im not going to spend antoher hundred dollars that i could spend on a new psp. im doing a read up on it and it says there 32 MB of flash memory, does that replace the 4 MB of ram that the psp has (Sucks for Flash movies). Another thing i noticed is its intended for experts and should not be attempted by ammateurs. I am a ammateur :(. I dont know wht to do soeone help me out
