Is there an easy and/or inexpensive way to convert old 16mm film to DVD? My local film place offers the service for a hefty price, so I was hoping to do it myself.

Has anyone tried setting up the old film projector and then filming using a decent digital camcorder?

I was going to try this method. I have a Panasonic PV-S300 3CCD camera that works well in low light situations.

Any suggetions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what equiptment you need to transfer your 16mm to disk. I did this a long time ago by a company and now have it on VHS where I transfered it to DVD! that wasn't hard to do. Sorry I'm no help..... but...........

I'm a big Yankee fan:

took this shot at Legends Field this year........ we need Cano back! and more pitching!

Forget Abreu. . . Matsui in left and Melky in right.

Yes, we need another starter and another reliever.

Let's trade Farnsworth, Chacon, and Ponson for two decent pitchers. . . and if you ask nicely, we'll throw in Randy Johnson complete with AARP membership!

Going from 24 fps to 30 fps (video) will result in a copy that has a rolling bar/flicker running through it. You need some sort of 3:2 pulldown to synchronize film to video. There are specialized projector/recorders (not cheap) that do this.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll save my pennies for the local photo place for the conversion.
