Keeps going to one side taken it apart but i cant get it to work any ideas.

Yeah but sometimes shops will change it. I broke my PS2 chipping it and took it back. Got it swapped there and then....they didnt even check to see if it had been taken apart.....used a friends receipt too as my PS2 was over a year old, lol.

try getting a new analog nub component off ebay. There cheap, or ask hex.
