i used the DVD Decrypte and i decrypted the movie, then i used DVD Shrink and shrunk the movie makng it an iso. then went back to the decrypter and burned the iso to a DVD disc.
the movie works on my ps2. does this mean if i back up a game that certain DVD-R will be read (with modification or swap magic)? and if i back up a game do i do it the same way as i did the DVD Movie?
Well when your backing uo your game you won't need DVD Shrink just decrypt using Decrypter and burn using Decrypter, most games will be played using Swap Magic disc or a Modchip, make sure your DVD brands/ codes are good too http://digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm
oh one more thing, so this basically means the game back up should work with the blank DVD-R brand i used for the movie right? like the PS2 will be able to read the disc.

Not necessarily. In theory yes, however the PS2 is very picky with media. It's best to use 8x Taiyo Yuden's and Verbatim's. These have worked on 95% of people's setups. I recommend getting a modchip. A chip trumps Swap Magic in every way, except for cost.
