whenever I try to cut a comercial segment from my media file I get the message "The cut region you selected is too large..."

I really don't understand the reason for this message, as it appears unrelated to the extension of the cut.

I have a lot of experience in cutting video files under Windows Movie Maker, but unfortunately that program will not accept mp4 files!

Any idea of how to solve this problem?

Thanks

You may be trying to cut the wrong part of the video and don't realize it. It can be a little confusing as to what you are looking at. I have gotten used to just slicing the video where I want it divided and then deleting the part I don't want. You might try it that way. Otherwise, go over the procedures you are using to cut the video and make sure the correct part is being selected.

First of all thnaks for your comment! It seems to work as you outlined. I imagen you mean the 'splitting' function, so I split 2 times and decide which of the 3 segments to delete.

There is jus one question: How do you merge 2 adjacent segments into one segment?

BTW, what can you possibly mean with "...the wrong part of the video..."?

Thx again

The wrong part would be the part you want to keep.

I don't think you can merge the videos. It you want them to play without stopping, click on the edge of the film strip so it turns blue the the video will play as one segment.

The way the cut scene tool works, I get a little confused and sometimes the segment shows up in funny places. Use whichever method you prefer, I just like to keep it simple.
