i just bought a psp. don't know anything much but i want to know can i play iso games. can i play any kind of games if i have the right emulator? (ex. snes, ps1, ps2, pc, etc.) if i can, then how do i emulate it. can i transfer my dvds into the memory and play it? how? reply back asap. oh, and i'm looking for good games to play rite now.

Before we get into all this emulation and iso's what firmware do you have? You also cannot emulate the ps2 on the psp. PS1, in time. Snes you can with SnesPSP_TYL. But in order to you need 1.5, reason why i aksed earlier. Yes u can transfer movies to your psp. But they have to be in right format. Use psp video 9 to get them to work. If theyre actual dvds youll have to rip it first with DVD Shrink. You wont be able to play games right now as everything takes time to obtain.

what do you mean by 1.5? i think i have 2.60. is that bad? can i play gameboy advance games too?

Yes u can play gameboy advance games also on 1.5 NEVER EVER EVER upgrade you are lucky as u have 2.6 and that can be downgraded. Go here on the psp to check to see if have 2.6.
Go all the way over to the left to settings then system settings. And finally system information. It will tell you what version of firmware you have. If you have 2.5 or 2.6 it is downgradeable with the use of a copy of an unpatched GTA:LCS UMD. Check to see what firmware version you have then we can talk about the downgrade process.

Ok you need to go to a game retailer that sells used games. Tell them u want to buy a used copy of GTA:LCS but you wont buy it until you can stick it in your psp for ten seconds. Put the UMD in and if it needs u to update to 2.6 its patched. If it only needs 2.0 to run then its unpatched. Unpatched is what we need here. After u get the unpatched version of GTA you then download the psp easy downgrader here.

Well thats why they patched it and re-released it. You can try renting it but its not guaranteed theyll have the unpatched version. Used game retailers are more likely to have one.

To be honest I would go with going to a place that sells used games. As they will let u stick it in your psp for a second to tell if it's unpatched or patched. I got lucky however when I went to my local walmart 2 weeks ago and miraculously got an unpatched version.
2.0 = unpatched
2.6 = patched

first of all:
1) will they let you try it on for a couple of seconds?
2) how will i know it's unpatched? what kind of clues do i need to see?
3) i need the unpatched one, right?
4) i just saw a guy downgraded his psp on youtube. he didn't need the downgrader software.

how much do you think the used game is?
Here, take a look a this. i found it on ebay. haha:
This edition of GTA:LCS for the PSP was the original release. This contains the 2.0 update, and if you are interested in homebrew and using your psp to its fullest extent then you need this game.
Although used, it has only been played occasionally, and has been well-kept.
This comes with case and full instructions as well as an independent UMD holder, as shown in the picture. The UMD has the 2.00 update on it and not the 2.6 as featured in the newer editions of GTA:LCS. If you are in need of having homebrew apps and emulators on the go, then this is a must for you!

the downgrader is a walkthrough so is easy!

how long will the GTA: LCS takes? i will do the hack tomorrow while in the store, so i want to know. cause after that, i will give the game back. and i need the game only once during the hack right? after the hack is finish i don't need it anymore right? anyway how long will it takes to finish the hacking?

oh, i see now. i have to have the ac adaptor on right? and then after the hacking, i will follow the instuction given from the downgrader right? the game has to be used right? what is the game isn't the unpatched version? am i stuck with the game? what if it mess up my psp? i'm taking this risk.

why recommend/advice/walkthrough downgrade 2.5/2.6 when you havent even asked if his PSP is not a TA-082 (IC1003) version. even though you wont be responsible you are partly to blame if his PSP got Bricked. All/New/Junior/Senior/Mods/Admins should take note of this before giving advices.
im kinda tired of this thing.
