infared is to share files wirelessly but kinda point less with wifi eh!
well i know it can control IR devices, ie. pda, audio and tv's use IRShell to take asvantage of the IR on the PSP

definitly not, but you can use it to control mobile phones i think. Read up on IRShell.

There really isnt a way to turn it on. The psp tv remote controller and irshell use it. When it gets called is when it gets turned on.

wow, is there really such a thing. i have heard alot about irshell and what it can do!! is it really true?? i only used irshell once before but then deleted it cuz i thought it doenst do anything good but boy am i wrong!

it need a code so that it know wat kind of signal your device requires, theres a list of codes for several divices (i think)

@Razor it gets even deeper than that you can control your (automatic)garage, lights and even microwave with your psp. I have ask my dad about it 'cause his friends (original psp-hacks creators) know more about it than I do

It's funny: a lot of things that Sony implemented are only used by Homebrew devs and Sony is in turn blocking things that actually make the PSP a heck of a lot more useful.

i think it might have been for an external keyboard or speakers or something they would put in a new firmwear so homebrew would be left in the dark....
