Hello everyone. I have had the burning error with Nero for over 3 weeks and everything I tried, nothing worked. Whenever I go into Nerovision Express 3, while creating menus and transcoding codes, about half hour while doing this, burning error pop-up appears and the program stoped. I tried using the Nero clean up tool to remove Nero and reinstalling it but that never helped. I then updated my Nero to 7.0.8.2, hoping this would help but I tried Nerovision again and the same thing happened. I got Nero with the purchese of my Sony DVD +-R Double Layer DVD burner. I have a Emachines T2865 computer and every program I have ever had on this computer has worked. I have no clue what the problem is. Everytime I try to burn something again, that error keeps coming up. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
AllStar15

Hi.
Jumping in.
NeroVision can be a finicky animal and sometimes chokes on the most insignificant mistake in a file being converted. It is also neither the fastest nor best converter/encoder. If the problem persists, try another conversion program. The following have free trials:
VSO's ConvertXtoDVD: http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/ DVD Copy 5 Platinum: http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/InterVideoDVDCopy_Profile.jsp TMPGEnc Xpress 4: http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/download/te4xp.html#trial DVD Santa: http://www.dvdsanta.com/ The Film Machine: http://members.home.nl/thefilmmachine/
ConvertXtoDVD is a crowd favorite around here. Both ConvertX and DVD Santa watermaek their trial version output.
Did Nero even get to the Burn stage? I don't see a burn failure message in the log.
[14:44:35] NeroVision CdRomPeripheral : OEM CD-ROM F564E atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off
[14:44:35] NeroVision CdRomPeripheral : _NEC DVD_RW ND-1300A atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On
You might want to try switching the cable on these drives so the NEC 1300 is the master and the CD-ROM is the slave. The burner sometimes behaves better as the master rather than slave. You may need to examine the jumper settings on the drives to set them as master and slave.
Once again from the log, I don't think you made the burn stage. It appears NVE choked on the AVI somewhere along the line. Look at the last section of the Nero History log in this path:
Program Files > Nero > Nero7 > Core > NeroHistory
Was a burn attempted for this NeroVision project according to the log. You might post that section of the log if a burn did occur and was aborted. Omit your name and program serial number before posting. Each section of the log begins with a Nero header followed immediately by the name and serial number.

Thanks for the posts DegenX, gwendolin, and laddyboy but I did everything you said DegenX and Gwenolin but that stupid burn process failed pop-up still appears. It always appears when it is creating menus and transcoding streams. Heres the new error log:
laddyboy, what do you mean try switching the cables on the drives. How do you do it? Thanks once again for the replys and hopefully somebody can help me out.

Hi.
Don't worry about switching the cables as you're not even getting to the burning stage.
Download ConvertX. It has a free trial although it watermarks its output in the trial version. At least if that works, it'll be safe to conclude the Nero is incapable of handling this file for whatever reason.
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/
Or try DVD Copy 5 Platinum. It has a fully functional free trial that doesn't watermark:
http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/InterVideoDVDCopy_Profile.jsp
I prefer ConvertX and it has a 20% off sale right now iirc so if it works and you like the output, you might want to purchase it.

I downloaded these free trials but I have a problem. I burn japenese anime episodes like Naruto and with these programs, when I watch the episodes on tv, half of the subtitles are cut off. With Nero, I just make the picture widescreen and I can read everything but with these 2 programs I cannot. Do you have any solution for this?

I don't have DVD Copy, but in ConvertX under the Settings menu, select Format. Then click the TV Format tab.
Video Standard is PAL - NTSC
TV Screen is 4:3 or 16:9

Did you purchese it or do you have a free trial of it? If you have the serial could I please borrow it?

If you download ConvertX from the link, it will work as a free trial forever I guess but it watermarks the output.
Requesting or sharing serial numbers is not allowed on the Afterdark forums. It can get one permanently banned.

O, ok thanks for telling me, I didn't know that. ConvertXtodvd works fine. Do you know why Nero won't work on my computer? Is it because I have a Emachines computer?

No, the brand of computer is probably not a factor. Have you tried NeroVision Express to convert another file since all the changes? It may be something in that one file that makes NeroVision crash. Many proplr use NVE all te time for conversion but sometimes they will encounter a file NVE cannot handle.

I only have Naruto episodes on my computer and they are all the same. It still doesn't make sense to me why in the beginning this program worked fine. I tried downloading and burning different episodes but the same thing happens. I also tried lowering the speed to 2X and using burn at once but the burn process pop-up still pops up. I currently did system restore but the pop-up continues. I'm thinking about buying a different program. Do you know any good programs other than Convertxtodvd programs that make and burn dvd's fine and also you can convert them into 16:9?

There are lots of conversion programs. I'm pretty sure all do 16:9 as well as 4:3 as well as PAL and NTSC. ConvertX is the most popular but cucusoft and imtoo also make conversion programs. I don't have links to them but google "AVI to DVD" and they'll show up. I gave links to others in a post above. DVD Copy 5 Platinum has a fully functional free trial (or did have at one time), so you could give that a try. AVI2DVD is a free one but it's buggy and was the forerunner of ConvertX.

You probably already thought of this but could it be an encryption problem?
maybe try running "Any DVD"
and then copying.

I tried AnyDVD but it doesn't work either. I'm currently trying to figure out what DVD making and burning program I should buy. I was just wondering, I use DivX to view my Naruto episodes on my computer. Is it perhaps I use that program, Nero won't work for me?

No, the files are in DivX format. All you're doing is trying to convert to a DVD compliant format. I thought up above you said that ConvertXtoDVD worked. Nero is just not a good converter when things get the last bit complicated. Did you try DVD Copy 5 Platinum for the conversion?

Sorry I haven't posted for a long time but I think I figured out why Nero won't work for me anymore. I have a Emachines T2865 computer that runs with a AMD Athlon XP processor and I believe Nero only properly works with a pentium 4 or higher processor. I still don't understand why it worked for me before but anyway I'm on my way in finding a different program to use. I'm thinking about Roxio so far.

Hi, I too have been using Nero for years, and I mean like about 6 years, Nero 6 was solid as a rock as has Nero 7 been until one day last week it gave me exactly the same error log listed here and for no reason at all, nothing has changed... I have reformatted three times this weekend and tried all different versions and none of them work, they all give the same error message. I have convert x but am hesitant to use it as Nero was giving me beautiful quality and 5.1 sound - I don't know of any other package that can output in 5.1 - if there is one let me know but for the time being I would love to know the answer to these damn SEH EXCEPTION (0xC0000005: ACCESS_VIOLATION) was raised in NEROMEDIACON.DLL at RVA 0x000012E5 and [10:00:34] DVDEngine ERROR

@natjen
What version of Nero are you using?
Are you getting the same error with all files or just this one file?

Well I'm back. I downloaded the Nero you gave me laddyboy but still the same thing. I tried downloaded and burning some episodes from Naruto Choas but still the same burn error thing happens. I was just wondering whenever I put videos to burn in Nero, even when it worked, a little popup appears saying MPEG-4 decoding is not available. Maybe thats the problem? I can't believe that you also have AMD and it works fine with you. I don't believe it's the video because I already downloaded the same ones from 2 different websites. I don't know what else to do. Also its weird but when I search for Roxio components in my computer, it still comes up that I have some but in the control panel when I add or remove programs, it shows I don't have it. I have also run roxizap but it's still there. I'm also wondering if that may be the problem.

I'm out of ideas. I've never got the mpeg4 popup. I don't use NVE very much anymore because I've always found it somewhat problematic and slow.

Yeah, same here. The only reason I like Nero is because of its simplicity. I'm probably going to go with Roxio. What do you think of it laddyboy?
