PSP2.6 downgrade question

well im about to downgrade my friends 2.6 i already downgraded mine but i have a few questions just to be safe
1) can i re-use the same GTA to downgrade his or will it mess up?
2) can i use a 1gb that was just reformatted or will it mess up?

my main concern is question #1
the GTA is unpatched and all that required stuff i just wanna be safe

That will be just fine. You could use the stock psp memory card. But the 1GB card wont make a difference.

make sure he doesnt have a TA-082 mobo or he will have a nice paperwieght.PSP UMDs as cds and dvds are not rewritible(unless you get special ones) so the data will never change on it so it wouldnt make a difference if it was used 0 times or 6000.

well heres my check list incase i forget anything
1) 2.6 psp WITHOUT a TA-082
2) full charged battery and ac adapter
3) UNPATCHED GTA
4) a reformatted memory stick
5) 2.6/2.5 easy downgrader from psp-hacks

am i forgetting anything?

no that covers it all. Just dont shut off your PSP or anything like that while its downgrading and you will be enjoying 1.5

yeah thanks well its not my psp as i already downgraded my own thanks to hexit and others providing me info about 2 weeks ago... lol

You know when people say u cant downgrade a 2.5 factory psp it has to be upgraded well if u get a 2.5 cant u upgrade it to 2.6 then downgrade ?
( without havin a TA-082 obviously)

Yep u sure can. But ive heard u can downgrade a factory one. rumors of it flying everywhere.

It rally doesnt matter if its factory or not. they just say that as mostly every factory 2.5+ PSP is Ta-082

Theres chances of bricking your psp with anything that flashes onboard NAND (flash). But if u follow the steps correctly youll have no problem. Did this last nite actually and i was effin hammered too.:) I think a sober person will have no problem.

The NAND flash chip is the chip that has the firmware installed on it.

onboard NAND. Is aka the flash chip that stores your firmware and other files. Its where your gameboot and other stuff resides.

You dont need to upgrade to 2.6 first.. I have downgraded two/2 psp's with non TA-082's F.W. 2.5 and both work great.. So dont waste time updating to 2.6 cause its not required..

well if you are worried or nervous then upgrade for the safety factor. But other wise downgrade. If you do upgrade to 2.6 first, make sure its the only time you every upgrade again.
