Hey, I'm rather new to all the homebrew stuff. I downloaded a couple homerew games and emus for my psp. None of them worked, and I later found out that its all in the firmware. I attempted to do the GTA trick but I didn't realize that it only works with 2.00-2.60. I have 2.80, is there any way I can get any homebrew stuff to work? I read about downgraders, but I have no idea how they work...
If someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

With 2.80 you can not play any homebrew sorry. your only options are wait for a downgrader or buy the modchip.

ya like hex said no homebrew works on fw 2.8 so good luck with 2.8...ur pretty much stuck with demos

Wait a second... did you update, or did your PSP come with preloaded 2.80, cause if it did, Sony's faster than I thought.

Nah, I bought mine used. Cause i'm cheap like that haha. Yeah, I updated it today actually, not knowing that firmware was a big bitch concerning homebrew....call me stupid but I thought the whole point of having games on the memory stick was so that people would make homebrew stuff and srota keep the psp 'alive'.

as what i always say to all
sell your psp (even with slighlty lower price)
hunt for psp with firmware 2.0 (then downgrade) or below (box with F or below)
1.5 is the FW to be at!
Homebrew - you'll never know what you're missing until you experienced it!

and remember NEVER upgrade! dev hook will give the latest for you!

Thanks for all the advice. Maybe I'll just buy a separate psp for homebrew stuff since I can't stand not blowing off my money on cool things.

if i try to run the downgrader on a patch gta will it brick my psp??or it will jaz wont run the downgrader at all?

ok ive dl back up games now and their ext names are .001
i.e: a-bdance.001...what types of file are these and can devhook run them??do i have to convert it to .cso???

hmmn i wonder why WinRAR doesnt expires?
but it does bug you to register or sumptin. (not me)
agreeing to their opinion solidifies it, yes no downgrading no brick = another sony bound psp gamer at the moment *_*.
psp 1.5 + dev-hook .XX + i.s.o./cso + big MS/HD <<< yummy things.
