to downgrade my 2.6 psp but i'm concerned since i obviously don't want to brick my 2 days old brand new psp.
if mine is not tac-806 (something like that) motherboard, it should work right? but my psp is also japanese one.. is that ok?
and what's the success rate if it's not tac-806 and has 2.6 fw.. 100% success?
and i read the noob guide for downgrading but it doesn't seem so easy as everybody says...
i especially don't understand this part:
"Now you will Need the DOWNDATER folder ? you can get this from numerous sources ? but please remember that it is illegal
I CANNOT HELP YOU WITH THIS"

what does he mean i can't help you with this? i don't understand that at all.

As long as the PCB is not a TA-082 youll be fine. As for the downdater folder you dont have to find that anymore as its included in the full version of easy downgrader which can be found here. Any more questions just ask :)

I believe that Hexitnow has a Picture of how to check your motherboard, and also I think they might be talking about the 1.5 firmware dump but in no way is that illegal. Anyway, if you got it with 2.6, then it won't downgrade, also the success rate for a non-TA-082 isn't 100, but it's highly unlikely to become a brick.

i downgraded my 2nd psp today...
just make sure it isnt ta-082
ur GTA is unpatched....
ur memory stick is empty
and all u gotta do is follow what the guy says in the easy downgrader...

ok, can you tell me what other benefits/advantages 1.5 has over 2.6?
if i'm only gonna play 1 game (loco roco), should i rethink about this whole downgrading thing?

buying Loco Roco - Yey you have the genuine game, fun for few days/months.

buying GTA LCS unpatched - try to downgrade psp to 1.5
if not - i rather not say this, just think possitively.
if successful - welcome homebrew world, emulators, umd/iso loaders (hmmn loco roco) etc.

so will you take the pink pill or the white pill with a gun logo?

Also with 1.5 you can use devhook which can emulate 2.5/2.6/2.71 etc so u wudent be losing anything really!
