Ok, so here's the deal. I've downloaded some video clips and such as well as had some from my old system (transfered from an external drive)that I moved to my new laptop. However, when I go to play the files, they are short (instead of being say 5 minutes, they are now 1min and 20 seconds in length), however if i seek farther into the file it will "jump" to a later segment of video than it would run to if i simply let it play without seeking. The video files are appropriate size, I've got all the codecs I've had before when some of these files worked fine, my drivers are up to date, I've used WMP10, DivX player, real and even tried Quick Time and my creative media player. They all have the same problem. This doesn't happen with all my videos or even with a specific type of media file and its really annoying as all the video appears to be there ,but I either cannot watch it in full. Here are my system specs:

Gateway Laptop
1.9 Ghz Pentium M
1Gb RAM
100 Gb HD (Well over 35 Gb still free)
Mobile Intel 915 GM/GMS, 910 GML Express Video
Conexant AMC Audio
Windows XP Home
