ok say i have 2.8 and a friend has 1.5 is they a way to copy or trasfer the 1.5 to my PSP? or was this just to stupid of a question to ask...?

wel it was a stupid question lol, the only way to get a 1.5 is by downgrading and currently there is no downgrader for 2.8 or even 2.70 :( looks like your're in for a wait :(

or sell your 2.8 then buy 1.0/1.5/2.0. opening you to world of homebrew now. waiting for final fantasy 13 has better hopes than waiting for the 2.8 downgrader. ffxiii has scheduled release date but the 2.8 downgrader may appear tomorrow or never at all. ^_^

couldnt they make a downgrade that downgrades from 2.8-2.71-2.7-2.6-2.6 ect...ALSO its just a PSP the security in it shouldnt be THAT hard to crack, like if i kenw how 2 do it i would...but...ya no...i dont...,...yeah so...BUMP!

hahaha i like these new guys, dont say your a noob anymore, we know it the very first time we layed our eyes on your questions.
yes they could make a downgrader but its not that simple.
you are wrong! firmwares are very hard to crack.
it takes a lot of spare time, knowledge and bricked psp's.
for me psp updates are created to fix exploits, but since exploits are discovered by homebrew guys and releases it on the net, sony knows and counters it. so every downgrader release sony will be updating their psp's until whoever get's tired/old. hehe

@johncchc your reply lead me to think you also own a psp 2.8 or undowngradable equivalent and doesnt wanna get your hopes down.
dont worry it'll actually be invented coz a lot of people need the downgrader (like myself i own a 2.5 TA-082 model) and a lot are intersted in making one. lets just hope they crack it sooner.
and about returning a psp, if it's not naturally defective you cannot return it, but some unknowledgeable store clerk may accept returns no questions asked. it all depends see.
psp's with 2.6 firmware will be harder to find these due to sony releasing psp's with updated firmwares. even the box letter code has been countered by sony here japan (no more letters pertaining to firmware version of psp inside the box), i believe your territory will be next in few months or so. i advice most people to get 1.5 psp now while its obtainable.
