Ok,I have a TA-082 model PSP I just bought yesterday.I know downgrading will brick it.I paid for an extended warranty on the PSP.
My question is,What exactly is bricking?
And will the people at the store know how I ruined it and refuse an exchange? Thanks

well bricking it makes the psp unusable, the flash files of the psp which are the main system files become corrupt and the psp becomes a nice brick, hence the name or a $200 paperweight lol

LOL the people prob wont know what happend as they wont open it up and inspect it , there more lightly to replace it then inspect it later or something, although theres no doubt about it...or you will brick your psp. It wont be long untill a downgrader is released for your mobo

this may be stupid but return the psp and buy a used one, which wont be TA-082 and hence you can downgrade.

Has there been any development in the making to "unbrick" your psp? As in a program, which is capable of reading the flash memory of the PSP? Or is it because when the PSP is bricked it shuts off automatically and makes it impossible to work on?
This would be my name but its 10 letters long and AD only allows 9 :P
