Did you go to volume control, bottom right on desktop? See if one of the options isn't turned low...

1. Go to control panel to sounds and audio devices see if there isn't some problem.

2. Maybe you are having trouble with the AC3 codec so simply goto the Start menu in Windows, select "Settings" and then the "Control Panel". If you have the AC3 codec installed on your system you should see the "AC3 Filter" listed there. Simply open the "AC3 Filter" and from there you should be able to change the Master volume, and even the volume of individual channels such as the Voice channel.

3. Go to Device Manager and make sure the sound card drivers are installed. Also, go to the Web site of the company that manufactures your sound card, check their Support area and make sure that you have the most up to date drivers for your sound card.
