Video Card troubles

Hey, first time poster here.
I have just bought a Gainward bliss 512mb 7800 gs+ golden sample (AGP card) and having trouble getting it working.
I've put the card in and screwed it down and plugged in the two 4pin connectors from psu into the adapter and the card is definitely getting power as its fan starts to spin when I power up.
I have a 500w psu so im sure that shouldnt be a problem
It says this on side of box of psu:
AC INPUT voltage current frequency
230v 5a 50hz
DC OUTPUT MAX Orange Red yellow white
+3.3v +5v +12v -5v
28A 38a 17a 0.5a
So i plug card in, plug monitor into card and the pc boots up and it just says no input signal.
I have integrated graphics on my pc so I tried the monitor in the old monitor port and still no signal.
So to get back on PC I have to take card out and just run on integrated graphics. I then heard I may have to disable the integrated graphics through the bios. The mobo I have is an asus p4r800-vm and I see no way to disable onboard graphics through the bios.

My first thought was to look at the card and motherboard. Motherboard is AGP 8X and the card says it supports AGP 8X. You can't mix PCI, AGP, and PCI Express. But, you must know that as your card and board match types.
My second thought is: Did you remember to uninstall your old card drivers before removing the card? I got so excited on my last upgrade that I did that. The new card flat would not work. Put the old card back in; did the uninstall; then put the new card in and feed it the new drivers. Worked great.
Make sure you did that. Beyond that would be past me. Cheers.

Well I've got onboard graphics so and I cant find a way to disable them in bios so I dont wanna delete them or whatever on windows as if this card doesn't work I might not be able to see what im doing to re-enable the onboard ones :(

I'm not speaking of anything within the bios settings. The drivers I'm speaking of are removed through the Add/Remove program function. For example, if my card has updated drivers issued, I would need to remove the old ones before installing the new ones. Same with changing the entire card. Uninstall the drivers thru add/remove function. Then remove old card, install fresh card, and then new drivers.
On my system the graphics look VERY crude without drivers for the video card. But it still works. I never messed with the bios. Maybe your system is different. Don't screw it up on my account!

Just making sure so I dont crap up, if I remove the onboard graphic drivers... will I still have a display?

How are you removing the onboard graphics drivers?
If you are using the add/remove program function (found under the control panel settings) you should be fine.
If you are doing something directly within the bios settings - I WOULD NOT DO THAT!!
The add/remove program function is normally used to remove/uninstall a program, game, drivers, or what have you after you are done with them/it. I would NOT mess with any bios settings!
Video card drivers usually come in two basic flavors - ATI or nVidia. Look for something listed including one of these terms. On my system they are labeled as "NVIDIA Drivers" on the add/remove program list; in alphabetical order. I have an nVidia card.
You should be fine if you stay away from the bios settings. I have never messed with them and would not without direct supervision.

I really dont wanna do anything wrong here incase I do lose total display but I can only find ATI overclocking too utility in the normal add/remove programs list.
Is it fine to uninstall it via device manager?

Ok I uninstalled via device manager and new card still dont work :(
Also the radeon 9100 igp drivers mysteriously came back by themselves after a couple of reboots...

I really don't know what else to recommend. You could try contacting the ATI people, they should know their card and drivers best.
Is the new card one of their latest and greatest cards? And is your computer somewhat "older"? There is a possibility that the card is just "too new" or "too powerful" for your current motherboard setup.
For example, I wanted to put my old card from when I upgraded as mentioned before into my wife's computer which is way older. Well, the old card from my current machine was just too much for her machine. Probably will try selling that "old" card on eBay as there is really nothing wrong with it. I had upgraded for the Tomb Raider Legend game.

check your motherboard manuel carefully
most MB's require disabling onboard in the bios before installing a video card. (not so for sound)
Read the installation manuel for the video card too.

You might also try plugging your monitor into the other connection,most Nvidia cards I've seen will only run on one side or the other until configured properly.

I cant find anywhere to disable it in the bios and been looking for it for about a week :|
