NEC DVD RW ND 3500AG Firmware problems

Hello,

I have a NEC DVD-RW 3500AG drive.

I keep getting the 'illegal disk' error message.

I am using Imation brand DVD-R disks.

I assume it is a firmware program.

I went to the NEC site and downloaded the '1925_FW_ND-3500A_win21A' zip .

I get the 'Target NEC ND-3500A is not found correctly' message.

When I purchased the drive I did not recieve any software with it.

You will also need the binflash utility for the flash:

Thanks for the quick reply!

I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to flashing a DVD drive, and I really don't want to screw it up.

Can I please get some step-by-step directions for using these two zips?

I found some easier to interpet instructions with the software you directed me to and I flashed the drive successfully!

Thank you very much for your help in updating my DVD burner!

I can now play and burn every type of disc I can get my hands on!
