I am currently on my 4th psp, this one I have had for abdout 5 weeks. This is what happened, I was playing socom for about 18 hours straight, then one moment it went to a load screen and I hear all this grinding form the umd drive, Now whenever I put in a umd and it hits the load screen it grinds and the game freezes, Sometimes it will finish loading but the second time it hits a load screen it freezes, andyone have this problem or know why it happened or if it is fixable without me having to send it in to sony for an exchange. By the way, I have not dropped it or gotten it wet or anything like that. My othere psp's still work fine, only one this happened too.

So your psp will still load umd's?? but when it gets in the game and goes into a loading screen it freezes...strange. Playing the thing for 18hrs straight prob didn't cause it...but now it's quite obvious your addicted :P

I dont know whether this will help, as this guy had dropped his psp and it wouldn't load at all, but this is the only thing i can think of. Goodluck with the solution man ;)
